I do like it when I get sent perfumes that are slightly different to the bog standard ‘florals, orientals’ etc. Perfume is such a personal choice and often, unless you know the wearer well, it’s incredibly hard to gift.
The latest ANISHA launch by ELLE Parfum is something rather extraordinary. It belongs to the library of fruity oriental notes however, it has that edge with an unusual combination of ‘Patchouli and Wild Strawberry’. Before I delve into the fragrance itself, here’s a little about the company.
Every time you buy a bottle of perfume from the NaturELLE range by ELLE Parfum, you will be helping women and children, who harvest the ingredients sourced, by way of ‘giveback programs’. The ANISHA giveback supports ‘girls affected by child sex trafficking in Indonesia, where we source our Patchouli’. A donation is made directly to the Rumah Faye Charity in Batam, Indonesia that runs a safe house for victims of child sex trafficking’.
Not only is this a brand with a huge conscience for the welfare of others it also, has a huge conscience for our planet. The packaging is made from agricultural waste, the product is vegan and cruelty free.
The fragrance itself is quite simply exquisite. It’s lively yet delicate, fruity yet not over-powering and whilst you can certainly pick out the Wild Strawberry, the Patchouli stops it from being overtly sweet. Top notes also include Raspberry and Blackcurrant, middle notes are soft florals of Rose and Lily of the Valley, whilst the base notes of Patchouli and Musk, lend towards a gentle, nurturing base. Often I like to suggest an age range for perfumes however, I would absolutely recommend this for all ages. It has an air of class and, is long-lasting due to the quality of natural ingredients used.
