L’Occitane en Provence Almond and Flowers Range Sample Review

As you can probably tell from my reviews, I love the brand L’Occitane. I find their fragrances utterly divine, but more importantly they use such good quality ingredients in their products. I have a friend who’s a pharmaceutical scientist and she will only use their Divine range, and no she doesn’t work for them!

The newly launch Almond and Flowers range is limited edition and my advice would be, if you love gentle Mediterranean scents then snap it up quickly.

Milk Concentrate 200ml RRP £44

This can only be described as nurture in a bottle. As with the whole range, this has a gentle floral, enveloping scent that is light, almost aromatic and incredibly delicate. The almond gives a soft, nurturing base that has warm, woody notes. It’s the perfect combination as stops the fragrance from being overtly sweet.

There are several ingredients that make this ideal for dry, dehydrated and dull, lacklustre skin. Such ingredients include:-
  • Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond Oil) - a non-pore clogging ingredient, making it suitable for all skin types. Almond Oil is known for its nourishing properties as it’s filled with vitamins and fatty acids. It contains vitamin A, that helps renew dead skin cells, vitamin E that helps heal the skin from sun damage as well as Zinc that can prevent acne and is anti-inflammatory.
  • Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil - Olive Fruit contains oleic acid that helps keep the skin, soft and hydrated. It helps repair sun damaged skin and also is anti-inflammatory so reduces redness.
  • Juglans Regina (Walnut) Seed Extract - has rich sources of proteins that help brighten the skin and firm. Ideal for use on pigmentation and, as it contains an abundance of vitamin E again helps repair the skin.

The consistency is, as the name suggests milky. You only need a small amount as it sinks easily into dry, dehydrated skin and leaves the skin softly glowing and feeling smooth.

Hand Cream 30ml RRP £9

With the same scent is their handbag, car compartment, desk drawer hand cream. I love my L’Occitane hand creams as not only do they nourish and keep my hands soft, but they also moisturise the nail beds. Ideal for those who spend days outside, doing chores, working with water or in outdoor elements.

As well as ingredients included in the Milk Concentrate , additional key ingredients are:-
  • Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil - contains vitamins E, A, C, K and D as well as Zinc. These vitamins combined help protect the hands from harsh, environmental pollution and elements such as extreme weather conditions. Also helps to diminish age spots (brown pigmentation marks).
  • Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter - deeply nourishing and moisturising. Helps keep hands supple and looking more youthful.
  • Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil - ideal for dry skin and again fights inflammation. It helps repair the skins barrier so again defends the skin from water, washing etc.
Shower Oil 250ml RRP £19.50

This gorgeous, scented ‘Shower Oil’ is ideal for dry, dehydrated and flaky skin types. It not only cleanses the skin and gets rid of all impurities but it really moisturises dry skin. It gives a super boost of hydrating ingredients to help keep the skin supple.

As its first main ingredient (so in greatest quality) is Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil. Grape Seed has a multitude of skin benefits, due to possessing high antioxidants. These antioxidants help protect the skin from sun damage but also help tighten the skin, so skin feels more supple. It improves the skin elasticity making it ideal for those who have sagging loose skin.

Other ingredients are similar to the above however, it also contains Rosemary which, again is tightening and acts as an astringent helping to ‘tone’ the skin.

Whilst this range is limited edition, for me it is possible one of my favourite scents, and I would hope that customer demand would make this a more permanent addition to the L’Occitane range.  You can purchase by clicking the link HERE
