Manta® Kinks, Coils & Curls RRP £30

I first reviewed the Manta® range in 2013. This innovative hair product was designed by Tim Binnington for his wife, who had lost her hair due to cancer. He wanted to design a product that gave the upmost protection from breakage, that would glide through the hair in the gentlest of touch. Today, it has won countless awards, with thousands being sold world-wide. I still have the same brush, and it is the only brush that I will use on my wavy hair, to not just detangle but also to style with.

The latest launch sees a design that has been produced specifically for hair that is curly. Whether that be 3a kinks or 4c tight coils. The brush makes painful detangling and styling a thing of the past. It’s excellent for children, especially as most do not like their hair being brushed! As it can be used wet or dry, it’s ideal for after swimming (I used it on my eldest when she was younger, and it was a miracle, as beforehand I couldn’t go near her with a brush)!

Unlike other products on the market, it’s unique with its 360 degree patented Flexguard™. The handle is designed to be easily placed between the fingers, so your wrist doesn’t ache when styling, making this an excellent choice for anyone who struggles to brush their hair, be it from neck pain to carpal tunnel. The flexible rubber design creates a concept that gives the user, control and ability to create huge volume lifting up from the roots. With this particular design, the rubber bristles have wider spacing to enable easier brushing for curly hair.

Not only does it give volume but it also is anti-static so your hair will look smoother, and flyaways are controlled. It’s heat resistant up to 80 degrees so can be used when heat styling. The bristles also stimulate the scalp and give a gentle exfoliation, so is ideal if you suffer from scalp psoriasis, dandruff or eczema. Stimulating the scalp also encourages healthy hair growth. 

Whilst I have wavy 2b hair, I do have a lot of it and so I could also use this brush. The design is compact enough to be squished into a small handbag, making it ideal for a night out and for travelling. It is the only brush you will need and has lasted me 11 years using it daily!
