I often get asked what is my ‘must have desert island’ product, and I always reply a decent lip balm. So often we forget our lips need protection from the sun, yet the skin on our lips is so thin and delicate. I think we under value just how important our lip care should be, and yet use our mouths for communicating, kissing, eating and they’re a constant focal point!

The Blistex Lip Infusions ® deliver all the necessary ingredients to not only keep lips soft and hydrated but also protect them from environmental pollution and sun damage. 

Blistex Lip Infusions ® Nourish

The ‘Nourish’ is ideal if you are going on holiday and need extra protection from the strong UVA/UVB rays. 

Ingredients include:-

• Hydrogenated Coconut Oil - helps heal dry, chapped lips. Contains Lauric acid which is nourishing and lip conditioning.
• Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax - creates a barrier to protect against pollution, harsh weather elements and environmental aggressors.
• Homosalate - is an organic compound and used as a UV filter, so protects from sun damage. 
• Brassica Campetstris/Aleurites Fordi Oil Copolymer - an emollient that protects the lips. 

Blistex Lip Infusions ® Hydration

Hydration contains similar ingredients to the above with Sun Protection Factor 15. It also includes:-

• Vitamin E - creates an emollient that protects the lips and supports the skins barrier. Also helps renew dry, cracked lips by speeding up cell renewal. 
• Vitamin F - is often used in skincare under the name of alpha-linolenic acid and linolenic acid. These help with inflammation, sore and swollen lips and help prevent water loss so keep lips hydrated. 
• Sodium Hyaluronate - increases hydration by preventing moisture loss.

I loved how not only did this soothe my dehydrated lips (having spent a day in the sun and not drinking enough water), but also made them look supple and moisturised without feeling ‘glossy’. As someone who barely wears make-up (yes as a Beauty Editor this is hard to believe), but I prefer to be au natural in the daytime, and the balm just enhanced my natural lip colour.

Blistex Lip Infusions ® Soothing

The Soothing is infused with cooling Cucumber Seed Oil and Calendula. This one is ideal if you have sunburnt, swollen lips and your lips feel red, irritated and inflamed. Cucumber Seed Oil promotes firmness and helps lips keep their elasticity, so ideal for more mature lips.  Calendula is often used in skincare as it helps conditions such as eczema, skin irritation, chapped lips. It also acts as an anti-bacterial so wards off bacterial infections. 

Blistex Lip Infusions ® Restore

Restore has 2 ingredients that are often used in skincare, and ideal if you have been under the weather and your lips feel dry and flaky.  These ingredients are:-

• Squalane - a derivative from Squalene and helps to reduce inflammation and swelling. Squalane is often used to build up the moisture barrier and keep in hydration. Ideal for sensitive lips.
• Allentoin - an ingredient that helps to restore lips by giving a natural exfoliation so helps get rid of dry, flaky skin cells. Ideal if you have burnt your lips and they’re starting to flake. 

All of the above are suitable for men and women and children. They’re dermatologist approved and you can apply them as often as you wish.
