The Body Shop Vitamin E Cream Cleanser / Moisturising Toner Sample Review

I’m a huge advocate of the benefits of a proper cleansing regime. When people ask me how to achieve good skin, I always start with the basics of cleansing. You don’t need a super fancy cleanser however, you do need a cleanser that will get rid of bacteria, unclog pores, remove make-up and grime and, at the same time not encourage excess sebum production.

My son turned 15 yesterday and, like most teens, including my eldest (who’s 19) suffers from hormonal acne. (He never reads my features, as he’d make me delete this)! He has suddenly got to that age where he’s started to really take care of himself (probably due to wanting to attract girls), and so for his birthday he was gifted quite a few toiletries. Often I don’t review men’s products however, this is what I love about The Body Shop Vitamin E Cream Cleanser and Moisturising Toner. It can be used on all skin types and for anyone with sensitive skin, and that includes teenage acne.

Vitamin E Cream Cleanser 250ml £12

The cleanser is incredibly lightweight and a little goes a long way. It has a delicate, refreshing scent that is non-intrusive and leaves skin feeling clean, nourished without any tightness.

There’s an abundance of ingredients included to help maintain good skin health such as:-
  • Glycine Soja Oil - anti-inflammatory, ideal for sensitive skin and those prone to flare ups. It also contains amino acids and protein, so skin is left feeling nourished and is more resilient to environmental pollution.
  • Triticum Vulgare Germ Oil - aka Wheat Germ Oil, this helps soothe the skin, again aiding in those who may suffer from tight, irritated skin, rosacea, hormonal flare ups. It also helps skin retain it’s elasticity and so skin feels plumper and firmer.
  • Butyrospermum Parkii Butter - Shea Butter, often used in skincare for its moisturising benefits, as well as providing relief for conditions such as eczema and psoriasis.
  • Rubus Idaeus Seed Oil - Raspberry Seed Oil - again is a healing oil, that also helps revive dull and dehydrated skin types. It helps calm down flare ups of irritation and itching.

A little goes a long way as mentioned, and whilst you can apply to the skin and remove with cotton wool, I personally prefer massaging into my face and neck and removing with a warm flannel. The cleanser really gets to work removing grime, excess oil and leaves skin feeling soft.

Vitamin E Moisturising Toner 250ml £12

There once was a time when a toner’s role in skincare was simply to remove excess cleanser. Not any more. Toners became a skincare product in their own right many years ago, and can often be used on their own to not just freshen up, but also to help alleviate the symptoms of many skin conditions.

This toner also contains Rubus Idaeus Seed Oil, aka Raspberry Seed Oil and so again helps alleviate the distressing symptoms of conditions such as acne flare ups, itching and inflammation. It also contains Tocopheryl Acetate - Vitamin E, which helps protect the skin from environmental pollution, UV rays and other stressors that can lead to aging and skin damage.

The whole Vitamin E range (I’ve written reviews on other products in this range), is ideal for teenage skin, sensitive skin, those who may have hormonal imbalances from pregnancy or menopause. The reviews are outstanding on the website, with many customers citing how it’s changed their skin around.

The products are vegan and cruelty free and most of the ingredients are from natural origins. You can check out the rest of the range HERE
